    Acting out social scenes and stories supports the development of self-expression using the body, emotions, and creativity. The skills used in acting, taking another’s perspective, picking up on social cues, and formulating language are effective ways to increase social awareness and competence. In Acting is Awesome!, young people will share their interests with peers, and contribute their ideas in creating either improvised scenes or by performing short plays.
    Ages 6-12 will engage in interactive drama games and act out make-believe stories and folk tales. We use animals and puppets. Actors are welcome to bring their favorite animals and puppets to class.

    Ages 13 to 19 will engage in theater games to form a creative, lively group that acts out characters, scenes and stories based on ideas and interests that come from group members. The teen group has been performing short plays they write together, based on popular culture movie and games.

    Ages 20 to 29 will engage in theater games to warm up our bodies, emotions, imagination and voices. Actors decide on the themes or acting styles (comedy, musical theater, drama, life experiences, etc.) that are of interest to them and that they want to explore together.

Volunteers will be on hand to help riders practice and help parents and other care givers learn how to help teach bike riding. Learn about bike safety and navigate a bike safety course. See the latest in adaptive bikes and get assistance from the Recyclery in checking your bike for safety. Play games, get your face painted, have fun!

    Teens and young adults with mild to moderate disability can enjoy an evening of games and socializing. During this casual early evening program, we’ll play games like Connect Four, Headbands and a variety of other games. Bring games from home that you'd like to play. Together, we’ll order pizza for those who want to chip in (Pay with 1's and $5's only please). Bring your own dinner if you prefer. This event is for teens and young adults with disabilities and their friends.
